Some say photographing children and animals is difficult and it is often more chaotic than with adults, but in my experience, children give you an unfiltered and honest response and are fully present from the start. Provided that the photographer has the right approach, it is in a way easier than shooting adults. Respect goes a long way.
I worked with an animal trainer for a long time to learn how to approach animals and I always ask the owner what is ok and what to avoid because each animal is an individual.
